Summer Work

Many exciting things continued to happen over the summer at FHGS: a team of teachers and administrators (see photo above) attended the BEST Institute at the end of June, many grade level teams spent work days preparing for this year, Mr. Stanton ran the Great Adventure Project (GAP), Middle School teachers ran a Transition Camp for middle school students, Mrs. Briggs-Carvey and Ms. Brittany Baxter ran a Humanities Camp, and the office was transitioned from its previous space to a space that positions it right near the ramp entrance.

In addition, the routine ‘big’ cleaning of FHGS was tackled. There are no words to adequately thank our maintenance, office and technology staff for all the work that was accomplished to have FHGS ready to roll! Our building looks great and it’s an exciting place to welcome returning and new students and staff!

Birthday Celebrations

To help families out and to make certain our students get a “treat”  to acknowledge their birthdays, the Abbey Group will be baking cupcakes for all students once a month. All students, regardless of their lunch plan, will be able to enjoy a sweet treat that day! Cupcakes will be provided for September birthdays on Thursday, September 19. Starting in October, cupcake day will be the 2nd Wednesday of every month. The cupcakes are homemade by Abbey Group and birthday students will be acknowledged with a song and a cupcake during their lunch!
