Blue Sock Day

Working within school-wide PBIS celebrations, and focusing on continuing prevention work, FHUHS will hold our first annual Slater  Blue Sock Day - Friday, June 11 (4th period).

Flyers with blue socks on them, each featuring a fact about e-cigarettes/ vaping/ nicotine as well as helpline info, will be posted all over Fair Haven.

After a difficult year, Slater Nation decided to see how many people we could get together at once, all wearing custom made blue socks. Blue and white are our school colors. We want to show ourselves, each other and the rest of Rutland County that Slaters are strong, resilient and connected. We also want to use this opportunity to raise awareness of the dangers of e cigarettes.

In 2021, the WHO launched a 'blue ribbon' campaign to inform about tobacco smoke's harms. We're doing our own Slater spin on that initiative, and dedicating June 11 as Blue Sock Day. Look for the Blue Sock flyers around town, wear some blue socks to show your support and stay informed about e-cigarettes!

All staff are invited to participate. We also would love to have the community become involved. Promote healthy choices, wear blue socks, come show your support on June 11!

The hope is that each year this will grow and grow, and bring awareness to different issues of concern within our community. Help us kick off Blue Sock Day!
