Next Board Meeting: Monday, February 27th ANNUAL INFORMATIONAL MEETING – 6:30 PM at FHUMHS

Third grade students were surprised to see their teachers had aged a bit overnight. The teachers decided to celebrate the 100th day of school by coming in dressed as their 100 year old selves!

CES Kindergarten students collected non-perishable items for our local food shelf. As a celebration of the 100th day, students counted the gathered items. They were so happy to count more than double their goal of 100! Great job kindergarteners!

Kindergarten was lucky today and had a visit from a mystery reader! Thank you, Mark Cassidy, for reading to the class! They LOVED it!

Follow Up to Hoax Call at FHUMHS from Superintendent, Brooke Olsen-Farrell.

Start your day with a cup of coffee on us! Hope to see you tomorrow morning at the Bomoseen Diner for our last scheduled Coffee and Conversation event.

From the State of Vermont Department of Public Safety and the Vermont State Police...

This morning, February 8th, we were under a Hold in Place (Secure the Building) at Fair Haven Union Middle/High School for approximately 15 minutes as a precautionary measure due to a concerning call made to the Fair Haven Police Department. Hoax calls like this have been coming into schools across the state and country recently. While there hasn’t been any credibility to these hoax calls, we wanted to make sure we were taking the proper precautions as student/staff safety is our number one priority. Again, there is no immediate threat to Fair Haven Union Middle/High School. Law enforcement led our response, and at this time we have released the Hold in Place.

If you see any of these wonderful people, please thank them for their dedication in helping our students! Slate Valley is fortunate to have this dynamic team in our district!
#NationalSchoolCounselorAppreciationWeek February 6th - 10th

On Tuesday, January 31st, CES 6th graders had a visit from our local poet Gary Margolis. It was wonderful. Mr. Margolis recited some of his poems and answered many questions. After his visit, he sent us this poem.

Attention: Next week's ALICE Training, (part of the Public Safety Series) is postponed to a later date. The next scheduled presentation will be Emergency Operations Planning on March 8th.

We have really enjoyed our chats with community members at the Coffee and Conversation events. Thank you to those who have spent time visiting with us. There are still a couple scheduled for next week. One is on the 8th at the Fair Haven Grade School and then on the 9th at the Bomoseen Diner. We hope to see you there!
