Department of Public Safety
This morning, February 8th, we were under a Hold in Place (Secure the Building) at Fair Haven Union Middle/High School for approximately 15 minutes as a precautionary measure due to a concerning call made to the Fair Haven Police Department. Hoax calls like this have been coming into schools across the state and country recently. While there hasn’t been any credibility to these hoax calls, we wanted to make sure we were taking the proper precautions as student/staff safety is our number one priority. Again, there is no immediate threat to Fair Haven Union Middle/High School. Law enforcement led our response, and at this time we have released the Hold in Place.

During Library Class with Mrs. Rampone, students in grades K-4 read The Midnight Fair by Gideon Sterer. In the book, at midnight, woodland animals decide to go to the fair after all the humans leave. They go on the rides, play games and eat all kinds of fair food! Students in K-1 colored carousel horses and designed strips of paper for a roller coaster. Grades 2-4 created rides, games and concession stands. What kinds of rides do you like? Fast or slow? What is your favorite food to eat at the fair? Click the link to see a short video highlighting the students' work. https://youtu.be/h4lOm-6tpjQ

Do you really get the internet service providers say you do on the FCC Map? Click the link to check and to file a challenge if the info is wrong. Correcting it could mean tens of millions of additional federal dollars for Vermont and more affordable service for Vermonters! 1. Visit the FCC National Broadband Map website. https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/home 2. Type your address into the Search by Address field and press the enter key. The map will zoom in on your location. On the right of the screen are the reported broadband service providers and maximum connection speeds they offer for sale at your location. 3. Review the reported services. 4. If the reported services are available at your location, you’re all done with the availability assessment! If the reported service availability is inaccurate, we encourage you to enter an availability challenge. 5. If you are having difficulties, call the Consumer Affairs Hotline (800) 622-4496.
