2nd Graders grouped popsicle sticks into 1's, 10's and 100's to practice using place value.

On April 24th, Benson Village School hosted an Evening of the Arts. This fun, family and community event showcased student artwork created under the guidance of art teacher, Mrs. Parrott along with students singing and the band playing music under the direction of music teacher, Ms. Broughton. The large attendance was heartwarming to see.

Principal Amy Roy discusses the overall environment at Benson Village School, including new initiatives, challenges and future endeavors.

Message from Superintendent Brooke Olsen-Farrell:
Dear Slate Valley,
We hope you're doing well. We wanted to give you an update on the school budget revote, unfortunately, it didn't pass. The vote count was 544 in favor and 947 against. We understand this news may be disappointing for some, as it is for us, considering there are factors beyond our control.
Our main focus remains on providing the best education for our students while being financially responsible. We're actively seeking alternative solutions following this second budget failure. The third budget vote is likely to happen in May.
We encourage open dialogue and welcome any suggestions or concerns you may have. We'll soon hold meetings to discuss the failure, gather feedback, and explore options moving forward. Your participation and engagement are vital during this process.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we're eager to work together to tackle this challenge.
Sincerely,
Brooke Olsen-Farrell, Superintendent

Mr. Jon Nadler came to speak with our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classes today about his time working for NASA, and the recent eclipse. He also happens to be our Librarian's Dad

Did you know our librarian's dad is a rocket scientist who worked for NASA!?! How cool is THAT!?! Today, Mrs. Williams asked her father, Mr. Jon Nadler, to come in as a guest speaker. Mr. Nadler is a retired NASA scientist who spoke to students about his position at NASA and how, because of Newton's Law, rockets can leave the ground and go into space. He encouraged students to be interested in science and space and to follow their dreams. Our students were engaged, and thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. Thank you, Mr. Nadler!
