Last Wednesday, May 17th, CES held their Celebration of Learning. It was a great evening of sharing with parents and community.
FHUHS varsity boys soccer coaches, Tim Dayton and Dave Carrabino, will hold a summer soccer program beginning Monday, June 19. Training will be held 6:00-8:00 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (except July 3) on the soccer training field at the high school.
High school aged players will play 4-8 scrimmages against teams from other schools. Middle school aged players will play 2-4 scrimmages. The program is free of charge, apart from a fee to cover the cost of referees, and is open to boys entering 7th grade in the fall and older.
Coaches Dayton and Carrabino are dedicated to helping build fitness, develop the skills, and acquire the understanding of the game necessary to be a soccer player. Even if you have little or no experience, come on out. They're there to teach.
Grade 6 Parents & Guardians PLEASE READ: Sign up forms for the Middle School Transition Camp will be sent home with students on Tuesday, May 30th. Students can hand in their form by June 2nd, OR bring it with them on June 5th for their Step-Up Day. We apologize for the confusion and hope this provides clarity. A big THANKS to Colleen O'Rourke from Pond Hill Ranch for talking with our First Graders about her ranch! We learned so much about horses and ranch life!

Today is the last day for the Book Fair! It is open from 8:15 - 9:45, 10:30 - 11:45 and 6:00 - 7:30.
Last week, CES went on an All School Field Trip and pulled invasive species with the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources Forestry Division at Lake St. Catherine. We learned so much and had great fun doing it! To have the whole school community together was amazing! Our thanks to Kyle Mason and his team!

Kindergarten was very excited to learn all about Gran-Debra Farms- which is located right in Castleton! We learned a lot about their farm and their adorable goats. Each student was very lucky to take home a goodie bag with some amazing goat milk soap! Thank you Gran-Debra Farms for taking the time to visit with us today!
Last Tuesday, May 9th, Castleton Elementary School held their Evening of the Arts. It was a great event showcasing students artwork, music and chorus.
In third grade today, Josh Trapeni came to recognize these students for their entries in the Casella Waste Management calendar contest. There were over 1200 entries statewide! Way to go, CES!

The FHUMHS Baseball and Softball teams are hosting a Benefit Cookout to support the Martelle and Bouzianis family, after they lost their home to a devastating fire. This family includes 4 athletes from our baseball and softball programs.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 13th following the Varsity Baseball and Softball home games.
Burgers, hot dogs, chips, dessert, and drinks will be served from 4:00-7:00pm in the circle at FHUMHS. The community is invited to join us and eat outside picnic style or stop by to grab take out.
