Did You Know?

Friday, October 28th!

Attached is a link to a new platform we are using to generate opinions on certain matters we are working on in our school district. The platform is called ThoughtExchange. This is the first exchange to circulate among all district parents, guardians and community members. Please take a few moments to exchange some thoughts on planning for the next academic year in relation to the school budget. Through this platform you can post a thought, along with rate and comment on others' thoughts. We value your opinions, they matter and are appreciated. All thoughts and comments remain anonymous. Thank you. To take part, just click the link below:

Here's a Dream Team! Representing our PBIS team at the annual forum earlier this week: Miss Jamie, Ms. B and Mrs. G. We are committed to our PBIS work at CES and it's nice to be recognized for that work!

Mrs. Lucci's & Mrs. Ray's Grade 4 Minion Task: Gru presents STEM (STEAM) projects once in a while. This one involved students working in teams, using only blocks, to build a structure of letters forming the word MINION. The students sketched blueprints and collected data on how many blocks it took to make each letter. In the end, each group of students donated a letter to the MINION sign displayed in each homeroom.

Custodians needed! If you are interested please contact Chris Cole, Director of Operations at 802-265-4905 or email ccole@svuvt.org.

Today was a great day for making mud pies! Thank you to Mr. Cassidy for providing the ingredients; he brought us some new sand for the playground, and we loved making mud to use in our outdoor kitchen!

A special thank you to Elly Moriarity at Castleton University for arranging an amazing opportunity for our 4th and 6th graders to visit Granger House and participate in the Castleton Hidden History Project. This project highlights a diverse and inclusive history of the Castleton, Vermont, area through collaborative, interdisciplinary research. Ongoing historical, archaeological, and geographical investigations are designed to study the lives and times of Castleton’s residents from the end of the Ice Age to the present day, with an emphasis on the less explored histories of local Native Americans, African Americans, and women.

Last week's relocation drill was a huge success! Our students and staff did an amazing job!
