On Monday, June 9th, all current 6th graders from each of our district’s sending schools participated in Step Up Day at Fair Haven Union Middle School.
During their visit, students had the opportunity to:
✅ Meet their future teachers
✅ Practice opening lockers
✅ Learn about the classes they’ll be taking
✅ Receive their supply lists
✅ Hear about Middle School expectations
✅ Participate in fun ice breaker activities
This exciting day is just one of the many ways our district supports students in making a smooth and confident transition from primary school to middle school.

Today, our students enjoyed a wonderful presentation from Dialed Action Sports BMX stunt bike riders! They learned important safety lessons about wearing protective gear like bike helmets and the three R's of anti-bullying: Recognize, React, and Refuse.
The students enjoyed the stunts and watching their teachers be brave participants while the expert riders performed tricks over the top of them. Thank you to Ms. Wagner, Ms. O'Dell, Mr. Patel, Ms. Quinn, and Ms. Mead for your brave participation!

What a fantastic Friday for our Intermediate Band and Chorus students!
They performed at the High Notes Music Festival and both groups came home with trophies. Our Chorus earned a "Superior" rating and our Band received an "Excellent" rating.
We’re so proud of their hard work, talent, and teamwork. After the performances, students celebrated with a fun-filled afternoon at Great Escape despite the rain! Way to go, musicians!

Big Readers, Little Listeners!
Today our preschoolers had a special treat — storytime with our fantastic first graders! It was heartwarming to see our older students take the lead, reading stories with patience, expression, and so much love. Our little learners soaked up every word.

We enjoyed a wonderful BBQ with our primary level (prek - grade 1 ) families today. The students were so proud to have their family join them in school!!

Mrs. McCrea’s first graders had a magical time reading When a Dragon Moves In by Jodi Moore!
Throughout the story, students hunted for 3D shapes hidden in the book’s sandcastles and practiced identifying each one by name. Inspired by what they found, they then put their creativity to work by building their own sandcastles using the 3D shapes they had made. It was a fun and hands-on way to bring math and storytelling together!
