A few weeks ago before the snow storms Ms. Nadler read The Little Mermaid by Jerry Pinkey in library class, Pinkey's version of this fairy tale focuses on the power of friendship and the importance of using your voice. With the help of Lisa Cacciatore, a member of our wonderful tech team, 4th grade used 3D pens to make themselves into mermaids and mermen!

The Slate Valley Universal Preschool Program will be conducting developmental screenings for children 0-5 years of age on Tuesday March 8th and Wednesday March 9th at Fair Haven Grade School. Screening involves activities that are both fun for young children and help us learn about a child's motor, cognitive, and language skills. Vision and hearing will also be screened. We encourage any child aged 0-5 years that resides in Benson, Castleton, Fair Haven, Hubbardton, Orwell and West Haven who has not previously been screened to be screened. If the Fair Haven Grade School dates are not convenient, we will also be screening at Benson Village School on 3/31. Please choose the date or site that works best with your schedule and give that site a call for an appointment.

Each month, the Middle School Team focuses on a topic or theme. The month of February's focus was friendship: choosing kindness, being genuine, encouraging peers and demonstrating selflessness. The Middle School team is working toward providing awards to those students that most consistently model and demonstrate the topic of focus for each month. The recipients of February's award are: 8th- Cody, Savannah, Kyralexis (absent from photo) 7th- Alexa, Eli, Adyn 6th- Aylivia, Marshall, Austin These students model the positive interactions we hope to see among all of our students.
