Ashton Thomas, a Senior at FHUHS placed 23rd in the Slalom Event at Burke Mountain for the High School State Championship. As an independent Ashton had to qualify in the top 10 to make it to the State Championships. He did so in the southern Vermont districts held at Bromley Mountain on February 16. There he placed 10th in the slalom out of 75 boys. This allowed him to ski in the state championships held this past Monday and Tuesday at Burke Mountain, where he placed 23rd in the slalom out of 75 boys in the state championship. Great job Ashton! Slater Nation is proud of you!
